WatchCare Service Centre - Terms and Conditions
You are solely responsible for the safe carriage of your watch to the service centre. Under no circumstances will we accept responsibility for any damage or loss that occurs before your watch is received with us.
We therefore strongly advise that your watch is securely packaged and posted by recorded delivery. It is equally important that you purchase adequate carrier insurance to cover any damage and/or loss that may occur in transit. You must also ensure that any carriage insurance you purchase includes the cover of watch items.
When your service has been completed we will return your watch to you via Royal Mail Special Delivery with five hundred pounds carriage insurance. You are exclusively responsible for notifying us about any additional insurance needs that you may have. This must be carried out before your watch has been despatched to our service centre.
Any increase in insurance cover will incur additional surcharges based on the level of insurance cover you require.
Your service is both non transferable and non refundable. Once you purchase a service it can only be used in conjunction with the watch you were quoted for. If you fail to redeem your service it will become invalid on the day after your chosen service period ends, this will be three or five years.
If your watch movement is not functioning when it arrives with the service centre we will run diagnostics to determine the fault. In the event that this will not be rectified by a service we may offer you the necessary repair in addition to your service.
Such repairs will never be carried out before your full permission has been granted and further payment taken.
In the event that your watch is not repairable we will consider the lengthy diagnostic process to be the full and final redemption of your service cost.
We always reserve the right to refuse your service cover where we feel that this has been obtained unlawfully or illegally.
The service of your watch will focus only on the movement. It does not include cosmetic or exterior repairs such as glass replacement, strap repairs or the removal of exterior damage such as scuffs and scratches.
During the service process we will carefully strip your watch movement, replace any visibly worn parts within, change the battery where applicable, clean the watch mechanics and then run a series of diagnostic tests. Once the whole service process has been completed successfully we then reseal the watch to ensure that it retains water resistance and moisture tolerance specific to your watch model.
When your watch arrives at the service centre it will be carefully inspected as part of our condition analysis process. Any existing damage will be carefully recorded and an inventory form will be retuned to you with your newly serviced watch.
The service process including postal times will normally take 7-10 days including posting time. However, we reserve the right to increase these estimated times during busy seasonal periods such as Christmas.
